Sh. Jitender Kumar Chandel
Sh. Jitender Kumar Chandel joined Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT), New Delhi as the Controller of Finance on 01 July 2026. He is a finance and administration professional with over 28 years of experience in Public Financial Management, Government Accounting & Financial management, Budgeting, Procurement/GeM Procurement, Taxation, Audit, Pension, and Institutional Governance.
Prior to joining NSUT, he served as Deputy Registrar (Finance & Accounts) at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), SAS Nagar, an Institute of National Importance under Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India,, where he served for more than 11 years. During his tenure, he also discharged the responsibilities of Officiating Registrar and played a significant role in strengthening financial systems, implementing PFMS, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), GST compliance, budget and project fund management, financial policy formulation, ERP implementation, procurement reforms, and statutory audit compliance. He was associated with several statutory and administrative committees of the Institute.
Earlier, he served as Accounts Officer at Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous Body under Department of Science & Technology (DST), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, and as Divisional Accounts Officer in the Office of the Accountant General (A&E), Punjab, under the Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
Sh. Chandel is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow, where he completed the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Finance). He also holds an MBA (Finance) along with postgraduate and professional qualifications. His core areas of expertise include public financial management, university finance, financial planning, accounting, procurement, taxation, ERP systems, and institutional governance.
